Collecting seaglass from Seaham beach

This weekend I had the great experience of collecting seaglass from Seaham beach. Famous for its seaglass and especially the multicoloured variations that can be found (often known as multis), I was determined to find at least one!

We even saw this beautiful but very brief rainbow

It didn’t take long after arriving on the beach that we started our search and found the more common green and clear seaglass including this sizeable specimen.

After a bit of searching our first multi was found and by the end of the day had found all of these.

After searching the beach we found a wide variety of colours and shapes, including some milk glass and sea pottery.

A sample of the different things we found

We also found this amusingly duck like piece!

I am looking forward to making some jewellery and perhaps some other things with these as raw materials and excited to see what I come up with. Bye for now
